ONE-DAY MATH for University
Entrance Exams
PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, GRE
ONE-DAY MATH prepares you to understand the books you will need to study
for university entrance exams. Note that the math kit covers the
material commonly taught in grades K-8, and many of the skills taught in
basic or integrated math classes in grades 9-10. Therefore, most of the
skills tested by the PSAT/NMSQT are taught in ONE-DAY MATH. Even if you
don't answer all your problems correctly on the practice test, your work
with ONE-DAY MATH will help you understand your study guide's
explanation of the answer. In contrast, the SAT and ACT are
designed to be taken near the end of high school by students who have
taken more than the minimum of math courses. ONE-DAY MATH covers the
skills that the student is presumed to have at the beginning of
preparation for these tests; you will see those basic skills listed and
reviewed briefly in the first chapter or two of a SAT or ACT prep book.
If you do not have a firm understanding of the skills listed at the
beginning of your prep book, you are strongly encouraged to work through
ONE-DAY MATH before advancing to the central chapters. The
GRE is designed to be taken near the end of an undergraduate program, or
after the prospective graduate student has been out of college for some
time. Again, working through ONE-DAY MATH will prepare you for the
quick review of basic math found in the first chapter or two of your GRE
book, after which you will move on to the math that is commonly expected
of most undergraduates.
