Purchase Information - Three Ways to Buy

1. Palo Alto Adult School ONE-DAY MATH kits are available at the Palo Alto Adult School office, which has day and evening hours. Call to see if the quantity you need is in stock. Anyone may come in person, and pay with cash, check, or credit card. District employees may contact the Adult School during the day to arrange payment by other means.

Palo Alto Adult School office is located in the historic two-story Tower Building facing El Camino Real, on the campus of Palo Alto High School, across from Stanford University and Town & Country shopping center.

Please do NOT call the Adult School office if you live outside the area; order online instead, or send your questions to Eve Sutton through the Contact page.

2. Purchase Order To arrange for payment by Purchase Order payable to Eve Sutton, go to the Contact page and send an email describing your needs. Be sure to include your phone number and best times to reach you.

3. Online Order Use the Shopping Cart on the Buy Now page for web site orders. You will use the PayPal service to pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), or with your PayPal account.

IF YOU PLAN TO RE-SELL THE KITS, you should research your sales tax responsibilities. For example, no sales tax is charged for curriculum materials distributed through schools as part of an instructional program, nor for items sold by the PTA, but you might have to collect tax if materials are not included in the student's tuition.

Before you order...

__ Check your CD player be sure it has a PAUSE button (so you can stop the lesson, then continue from that place), and a REVERSE button (so you can go back to repeat a few words, without going back to the start of the lesson), and maybe a counter (so you can see exactly where you are in a track). Recommended CD players: a small boom box, Sony CFD-S01; or the portable Sony DNS313F; or a computer that plays audio CDs.

__ Think about how the kit will be used. Each kit comes with one set of lesson cards. You can pass the kit along to someone after you finish, but you will need an extra set of lesson cards for each additional person who uses the kit. If people need to use the math kit during the same day or week, it might be better to order one complete kit for each person.

__ Have your credit card handy (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), or your PayPal account password and ID.

__ Have your Billing Address and Shipping Address ready.

The Billing Address should match the name and address for the credit card.

The Shipping Address should be a place where the US Postal Service can deliver a box or large envelope safely. Allow about 5 business days for delivery.

__ If the order will be a GIFT or a DONATION, you might want to compose a short message to be included in the box. You can enter your message on the same screen as the shipping address.

__ Sales Tax will be calculated on another screen by the shopping cart for all California shipping addresses, based on state and local taxes. There is no tax for shipping addresses outside of California.

__ A sales receipt will be included in your shipment.

FREE KIT For several years, Product Testers have provided valuable information and suggestions for improving ONE-DAY MATH. It’s easy to become a Product Tester. You can test the kit yourself, or supervise a test by someone else.

1. Purchase a ONE-DAY MATH with an individual online order. Purchase only ONE kit for your use as a product tester––this should come with a separate receipt for one kit, not be part of a larger order. A receipt will be included in your shipment. Save your receipt!

2. Complete the lessons within about 3 weeks of the purchase date shown on your receipt, and make a packet of the following papers:

__ Clear photocopy of the receipt.

__ Clear photocopies of all your Lesson Cards, Color Illustration Card, and Pocket Reference Cards, showing whatever you wrote on them.

__ Clear photocopies of all your scratch paper and note paper. Arrange them in order, starting with notes on Lesson One, and ending with Word Problems. Each page should be labeled with the date and the name of the lesson.

__ At least one page of your comments and suggestions, written NEATLY or typed. This page should begin with your name, your address, a brief description of yourself and why you are using ONE-DAY MATH. Then describe your reactions to the kit, including any comments or suggestions you have.

__ Name and postal address of the person who purchased the kit, if this is different from the person who tested the kit.

3. These papers should be mailed flat in a sturdy 9 x 12” envelope, sent by US Mail, postmarked no later than 30 days after the purchase date shown on the receipt. Keep copies of whatever you need for your records. DO NOT send an envelope that requires a signature for delivery.

(If you are buying this kit for someone else to use, supervise that person’s completion of the lessons and comment page, then collect, photocopy, and mail those papers, and the sales receipt, within 30 days.)

Where should you send the photocopies? The address will be included in your ONE-DAY MATH kit. If there is any problem, send an email immediately to Eve Sutton, using the Contact page. Don’t wait for the last minute!

4. A check will be mailed to the purchaser’s address for a full refund of purchase price, including the postage that was used to send photocopies. Now your kit is FREE.

Returns: You can return your kit(s) and extra supplies for a full refund of purchase price within 30 days of the date shown on your receipt. If you request a refund, make a copy of this receipt and keep it for your records. To request a refund, send ALL the materials (used and unused), including your sales receipt, to the return address that is shown on your receipt. Make sure that the box or envelope is sturdy enough to protect the materials from damage. Enclose a note describing your reason for requesting a refund. Be sure to include your name and postal address inside the package. If all the materials are undamaged, and the proper documentation is included, a check in the amount of your purchase price will be mailed to you at that address within 4-6 weeks.
