ONE-DAY MATH for Math on
the Job
Contractors, Technicians, Trades, Business,
Self-Employed
Cost estimates, budgets, materials and supplies, area and volume,
graphs, percent increase and decrease, even the math needed for simple
tax returns––all of the basic math skills used by most adults on the job
are taught in ONE-DAY MATH. You will also learn how to teach math, so
you can help co-workers and train new employees if needed.
Along with teaching basic math that all adults need on the job, ONE-DAY
MATH prepares you to learn the specialized math for your particular
trade or business. For example, when you are comfortable with all the
variations of one formula (a x b = c), you can learn how to balance the
load in an airplane; understand the relationship of watts, volts, and
ohms; calculate simple interest; estimate travel times and gas mileage;
measure the area of a room or outdoor space; and much more. When you
understand how to measure the area of a circle, you can combine that
with a simple formula to calculate the flow of a liquid through a pipe,
whether it be an IV drip into a patient's vein, or a flood of water
draining into a reservoir.
